Bikes in Barcelona
While Barceloneta Bikes or BudgetBikes can be rented by everyone, including tourists, Bicing is a public eco-friendly program initiated by the mayor especially for residents. Bicing is a new way to travel from one point to the other and reduce noise and pollution in the city. Most of the bike centres are close to bus stations, metro stations and parking areas.
There are more than 300 bike centres in Barcelona.

#ecoOrganic vs natural in food labelling
Organic is better than natural? Organic is the same with natural? Can a product be natural, but not organic? This is surely a big question mark and it is getting more and more difficult both for the producer and consumer to say what is what.
I did some research for myself and here is what I found.
Only the "organic" word is certified:
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) redefines "organic" by setting up its own standards for "certified organic product." Certified organic products offer consumers the peace of mind to know that their gardening efforts will do less harm to people, pets and the environment than in using chemical pesticides.

In the food industry today, there's no official definition of "all natural."
A food labeled "all natural" can be processed without preservatives or additives, but it can contain: pesticides, herbicides, toxic heavy metals, trace amounts of PCBs, toxic fluoride, hidden MSG, high-temperature cooking byproducts, synthetic chemical vitamins, other non-natural substances.
A potato chips bag can be sold as natural, even if it contains unhealthy additives.
A friendly advice for everybody is to read the label before deciding to buy a product. It can be disappointing.

#eco#shoesEco plastic bottle
Biota is the world's first compostable bottle. It will degrate in 80 days in a normal commercial environment. The concept is relatively simple. Cargill essentially "harvests" the carbon from corn, which plants remove from the air during photosynthesis and store in grain starches. This is achieved by breaking down the starches into natural plant sugars.
The carbon and other elements in these natural sugars are then used to make plastic, called polylactide (PLA), through a simple process of fermentation, separation and polymerisation. Packaging made from NatureWorks is therefore 100 per cent nature-based.
#ecoChoosing your bike
When you decide to buy yourself a bike for the first time, it is important to choose what fits you well.
You need to take into consideration 3 things:
What is your height?
What is more important for you: comfort or speed?
If you're a woman, there are several manufacturers that have specific models created for ladies.
Buy a hybrid bike if you plan to ride city roads and see lots of places as a tourist. In Barcelona, the bikes they rent are hybrid bikes. They combine the advantages of an upright mountain bike with the efficiency of a road bike.
