Avoid eating fresh fruit after meal

By Myriam Benali in Anywhere  |  1 year ago  |  1 comments

Fruit is marvellous, but our society has taught us a bad habit regarding the time we eat it. We often finish our meal by eating an apple. As this fruit digests quicker (in about 30 minutes) than most of the other cooked food (meat, pasta, cheese etc), it will cause fermentation and indigestion and our body will be unable to absorb the essential nutrients that we wanted to get from the fruit.

What we consider to be a desert it is in fact a snack or a meal by itself that should be taken separately. The correct time to eat the fruit is an hour before a meal. This way, vitamins will be correctly absorbed.

Do you love your heart?

Eating processed meats like bacon, ham and sausages can increase the risk ofheart disease and diabetes, according to new research.

A review by the Harvard School of Public Health in the US found people who eat processed meats have a 42 per cent higher risk of heart disease and a 19 per cent increased risk of Type 2 diabetes.
That is based on a daily serving, on average, of 50g of processed meat, which is roughly the equivalent of two rashers of bacon or one hot dog. However, unprocessed red meats, such as beef, pork or lamb, do not raise the risk. via http://uk.news.yahoo.com

How to give up eating snacks

By Myriam Benali in Anywhere  |  2 years ago  |  0 comments

Bad eating habits are sometimes very hard to give up to. Especially if you have a demanding job and very few time for yourself.

Because when you are home, even before thinking about snack, first thing you'll l see is that potato chips or that bag of candies. And they'll say: Eat me, eat me eat me!

So people who tend to buy these things, when they arrive late at home, they will prefer to eat a cookie or a snack than cook themselves healthier food.

I have found an easy simple way to give up bad snacks. It all starts with your shopping cart. Don't put in anymore things that you know that you should't eat instead of real meals like: brezels, potato chips, all kinds of candies, sweets etc. Put in insted baby carots, whole grains, dried fruits and nuts. They are delicious snacks between meals.
