Shortcut in Outlook Address Book

By Marie Gatti in Paris  |  1 year ago  |  0 comments

I just discovered a shortcut in Microsoft Outlook mail and I thought to share it with other people writing lots of mails like me.

When you write a new mail, you can quickly check names (from your address book or the local directory, if you're at work) by pressing CTRL+K. This is so easy and practical.

Augmented Reality app for festival-goers

By Sorin Olexiuc in Anywhere  |  1 year ago  |  0 comments

What do you think about an application that allows you to view artist information, concert schedules and stage locations on festivals? How would it be to never get lost in the crowd?

Zehnder Communications, an advertising agency in New Orleans, did just that. The application was developed on the Layar Reality Browser available for Android smart phones and the Apple iPhone 3GS.

Display the full URL behind shortened URLs with Google Chrome extension

By Sorin Olexiuc in Anywhere  |  1 year ago  |  0 comments

With more and more sites using shortened URLs, it's difficult to know where a link is actually leading. Fortunately, if you're using Chrome you can download an extension that lets you see the entire URL behind shortened URLs just by hovering over the link.

View Thru expands short URLs and display the full URL as a tool tip over the short URL. It supports bit.ly, cli.gs, ff.im, goo.gl, is.gd, nyti.ms, ow.ly, post.ly, su.pr and tinyurl.com.

How to reset your iPhone

By Jean-Yves Edmond in Anywhere  |  1 year ago  |  0 comments

If an iPhone app seems to be locked up hold the Home button for six seconds. This should bring you to Home.

Now, if that doesn't work, don't worry. You can try reseting your iPhone: simply hold the sleep/wake button and the home button and the same time. Press and hold until the Apple logo appears.

Remove the Yahoo! Messenger Insider Pop Up Window

By Christian Lacluse in Anywhere  |  1 year ago  |  0 comments

Every time you login to YM, there is also a pop-up window with news from Yahoo!.
After years of using Yahoo! I finally decided to get rid of it. :-)

It is very easy (it takes longer to make up your mind):

  1. Go to Messenger/ Preferences
  2. Select the General category and uncheck Show Yahoo! Messenger Insider.

That's it, gone!
